Ed Norvell shares about the arts in Rowan County

(contributed)

Local lawyer, philanthropist and community leader Ed Norvell was our guest speaker at today's meeting, reminding us that Salisbury is truly a "City of the Arts" and describing the many arts organizations and activities that make Salisbury and the surrounding area attractive to families and businesses seeking to relocate here. He encouraged everyone to be supportive of the many arts-related initiatives available to us, including three active community theaters, our local symphony, many music activities, college performance venues, sculptors and painters in our community.

Ed also described a new initiative he is working on to encourage new funding for the arts in our area, especially from larger corporations which have a presence in Rowan but are not currently involved in arts funding for our community.
